The Maurice Lucas Foundation’s 15th Annual Celebration Dinner and After Party is an exciting night to benefit the Foundation’s comprehensive program that serves Portland-area students 6th grade through post-high.
Through our Academy middle school, high school, and post-high programs, along with our free sports and education camps, the Maurice Lucas Foundation served nearly 1000 students and families this year. Our goal for this upcoming year is to serve 1500 students and families.
Join us for amazing entertainment, great success stories from students, teachers and mentors as well as former NBA greats and other celebrities sharing their perspectives. Help us empower Portland’s youth with opportunities for developmental growth and celebrate the legacy of Maurice Lucas.
Special guests include former and current NBA greats and local celebrities.

We are passionate about students’ success and believe in their ability to dream, learn, and achieve. We model, teach, mentor, and coach from middle school through high school – and beyond. Students grow in capability and confidence as Maurice Lucas Foundation staff support and amplify students’ resilience as they navigate an increasingly challenging world. Students gain access to transformational opportunities and experiences through consistent and long-term academic support, character development curriculum and experiences, college visits, job shadows, internships, educational field trips, and college scholarships.
Our team consists of mentors, coaches and tutors and a collaborative relationship with partners, families, teachers, and schools. We acknowledge and value the important influences in our students’ lives and form a community of champions for their success. Together we will continue to advance our mission of ensuring all students have a fair and equitable opportunity to access a high-quality education and pursue their dreams.
